We Turned 5 This Year!
This year, Purpose Driven Development turned 5! Thank you to our partners, clients, colleagues, advisors and supporters. Each of you has been fundamental to our growth and successes.
We share these milestones with you and look forward to creating more innovative projects and creating communities where we can all thrive.
Our Team Expanded
This year we also grew as a company. Our team expanded with a new operations advisor and finance specialist, expanding our financial and operations capacity, as well as deeper capacity in project delivery.
Our Work Got Some Attention
We were honoured to have had unprecedented invitations by media and industry associations in 2021 to showcase our projects and unique Purpose Driven approach to unlocking complex development to create communities where we can all thrive.
One highlight was an invitation by the US State Department Office of Global Women's Issues to speak at their Innovation Summit spotlighting women-led initiatives related to energy and housing.
Thank you to global, national and local media and industry associations for the invitations. We look forward to continuing to work with you to bring innovative projects and perspectives to your audiences.
2021 Project Highlights
We are also proud to have reached significant project achievements alongside our amazing partners and clients.
Housing for Women by Women
Together with our partner Soroptimist International of Vancouver, we are delivering 135 units of much needed housing for women by an all women team to demonstrate the leadership of women in the industry. This year, our project celebrated two important milestones.
We Achieved Rezoning in 8 Months
Through hard work and great collaboration, we were thrilled to receive an uncommonly fast unanimous rezoning approval from the City of Vancouver in July.
Thank you to staff and Council for their collaboration and support for this important project.
Our Project Was Selected in The Highly Competitive Community Housing Fund Process
As 1 of only 49 projects in BC, and only 6 projects in Metro Vancouver, our project was the largest in the province that was awarded capital financing and funding through BC Housing's Community Housing Fund.
Thank you to the City of Vancouver, BC Housing, CMHC and Vancity for your financial contributions to make this project a reality!
A big thank you to the rockstar team that we assembled for this project and our funding and financing partners for their support and collaboration throughout the process.
Mission Waterfront Revitalization Strategy & Master Plan
2021 marks the substantial completion of the Mission Waterfront Revitalization Master Plan. As a highly complex, large-scale waterfront site, we have been thrilled to be a key player and co-lead of this initiative with our deep expertise in waterfront revitalization and development.
One of the largest underdeveloped waterfronts on the Fraser River, the City of Mission's Waterfront represents a significant opportunity to establish a positive, meaningful connection with the river that redefines these lands as a vibrant place to live, work and play in a growing region. Congratulations to the City of Mission and the entire team on this significant milestone that has been many years in the making!
Innovative First Nations Housing & Mixed-Use Development
We are honoured to work with Songhees Nation and have made significant progress in the design development for an innovative, community-driven model of First Nations multi-unit housing and mixed-use development delivering on key Nation priorities, including Economic Development, Cultural Revitalization, Affordable Housing, and Community Well-Being.
