Owned by the Kiwanis-Soroptimist Senior Citizens Housing Society, Southwynds Place will deliver more than 900 permanently affordable rental homes, creating a vibrant mixed-income community for seniors, families, workers and individuals, and becoming one of the largest non-profit housing developments in Vancouver's history and one of the largest in Canada.

We're proud to share two important milestones for Southwynds Place, one of Canada's largest mixed-income affordable rental communities.
Earlier this year, Vancouver City Council unanimously approved the rezoning. We are now pleased to have achieved full rezoning enactment—a significant milestone that provides the planning certainty needed to advance toward construction financing and delivery.

Achieving enactment before Council's recess for the upcoming municipal election is an important accomplishment. A sincere thank you to the City of Vancouver staff and the broader project team for their professionalism, collaboration and commitment throughout this process.

We're also pleased to share that Build Canada Homes has assigned a Partnership Manager to the project, marking another important step as Southwynds Place advances through construction financing review and partnership discussions.
