Built by Women, for Women: Soroptimist House Featured in BC Business


We are proud to see Soroptimist House featured in BC Business as a leading example of affordable housing conceived, led and delivered by women.

The feature explores how the 135-home development translates Soroptimist International of Vancouver’s mission into a thoughtfully designed community that strengthens housing and financial security for women. From a lobby envisioned as a shared living room to welcoming amenity, laundry and rooftop spaces, opportunities for connection have been intentionally woven throughout the building.

The article also reflects on the collaboration, resilience and shared values that helped the project team navigate complex construction challenges while remaining within budget and ahead of schedule.

As our CEO Carla Guerrera shared, our team “rejected the idea that affordable housing needed to look and feel like affordable housing.”
